The theory arrived after the practice.

DCA did not begin as an abstract idea. I had been distributing capability across people, tools, spaces, routines, music and time throughout my life—long before I knew what I was doing or why it worked.

I am a Late Identified AuDHD mixed race woman, wheelchair user, systems thinker and disabled maker. This page explains how my personal operating map, transferable theory, autobiography and evidence work fit together without pretending they are all the same thing.

The transferable theory

DCA

Distributed Capability Architecture starts from a simple observation: capability does not live entirely inside an individual. It is distributed across five nodes: Body, Tools, Environment, Community and Time. The Body node includes physiological, sensory and cognitive state.

Change one part of that system and the same person may be enabled, exhausted, excluded or restored. The framework examines this through five design pillars: Physical and Environmental Foundation; Autonomic Regulation Infrastructure; Cognitive Distribution; Translation and Interface; and Organisational Interface Architecture.

The nodes show where capability is distributed. The pillars show what must be designed and sustained.

My operator’s manual

ReeOS

ReeOS is my reverse-engineered personal operating system: the way my particular traits, body, history, environments, tools and relationships combine into one brain-and-life system.

Android runs Google devices and Apple has its ecosystem; ReeOS is the map for operating this particular Ree. It grew from a lifetime of adapting without clear insight. During the last six months, clearer insight made those operating patterns visible enough to document deliberately.

A sustained pressure test

Sandwell is part of the context—not the origin or the whole story.

Sandwell is not the origin of my systems thinking, nor the whole subject of my work. It became a sustained real-world test of it. In my account, failures across interconnected local systems demonstrated how quickly participation can collapse when institutions remove, ignore or obstruct the tools, access, continuity and environmental supports that make capability possible.

DCA provides a model for understanding that process. ReeOS documents the adaptive system I used to survive it. Bridge and the Longitudinal Assessment proposal explore what more accessible systems could look like. The Public Timeline and Clerical Audit Ledger preserve the source record.

When an institution removes accessible communication, suitable housing, mobility, continuity, practical support or sufficient processing time, it removes nodes from a person’s capability system. The resulting difficulty may then be mislabelled as individual incapacity or non-compliance.

The institutional record explains why parts of this work became urgent. It does not reduce my life, identity or work to institutional failure.

Clear boundaries

One ecosystem. Different kinds of record.

Context connects the strands; it does not collapse them. Personal memory, public evidence and controlled records have different jobs.

BitManga and music

BitManga is autobiography in my own words, rhythm and style. The Bitmoji images make content creation friendly and manageable. Spotify playlists add the cross-genre music I actually knew in each era.

Personal Google Photos albums and links to major life events will be added gradually. My digital archive is strongest from around 2004 onwards; earlier chapters will be backfilled when I have time to scan childhood photographs.
